ABOUT
Kate Haanraadts, born in 1979 in New York City, grew up on Long Island. She earned a BFA in communication design from Pratt Institute in 2001. After graduation, she worked in broadcast design while starting a family, nurturing her artistic passion in her spare time.
In 2020, Kate rediscovered her love for drawing and painting, focusing on hyperrealism. Her talent led to numerous commissions, membership in the International Guild of Realism, participation in notable exhibitions, and features in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, including landing the cover in October 2023.
For the past four years, she has run Garden City Drawing Board, a home-based art school teaching realism to children and adults. Over 100 students have excelled under her guidance, culminating in a successful student art show & awards in 2024.
Kate draws inspiration from wildlife and nostalgia, capturing nature's beauty and evoking familiar themes in her work.
